William Deitz’s Legion of the Damned series belongs here.
Hammers Slammers by David Drake fantastic future armor unit warfare. Very believable interactions from lowly tank crewmen to officers and the interactions with political groups. David was a tanker which is why everything is so realistic and authentic how military units and personnel work. Great stories too!
The Jeffery Haskell series Grimm War series is excellent. And for old Star Trek enthusiasts the Underbelly series by T.R. Bryan are amazing. Ken Lozito and Jay Allen are among my favorite. Daniel Gibbs is another author I would recommend. These authors seem to reflect the best in today’s writing to me because they don’t stray with words or images ( overt amounts of profanity or sex) that excite letting the works do that. A couple of the writers highlighted are good story developers but the constant use of the “f” word is just a distraction I don’t need in what I read. I hear it enough day to day. Thanks for this sight.
