Love her stuff. Started with the Morgaine gate series. Cherryh is a magnificent writer, I’ve read almost all and wish there was more!

The Star Force Series by B.V. Larson should not be left off the list. It is a real winner, starting with the initial attack on Earth. Always exciting!

Where is Larry Niven’s “Known Space” series; Philip Jose Farmer’s Ringworld or World of Tiers (or even his Wold-Newton pastiches); or Gordon Anderson’s Dorsai series (arguably the original military SF series).
Where is Barsoom or Lensman series that probably inspired so many.
More importantly where is the grandfather of them all: Future History by Robert Heinlein.
